Mundo Deportivo claims the Catalans want to their star man to follow Andres Iniesta by committing himself to the club for life.

The paper states that Messi has already agreed a deal until 2021, even though it hasn’t been officially confirmed by the club or player.

However, Nou Camp chiefs would apparently like to start discussions over another contract.

Messi will be offered the chance to remain with the club for the rest of his life.

And the Argentine will also be allowed to choose when to hang up his boots.

Messi is believed to be happy in the Catalan capital right now.

But there have been questions in the past year over his long-term commitment, with Manchester City known to be admirers.
