Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata out with back injury will not play in Huddersfield clash

ANTONIO CONTE has been dealt a fresh blow with Chelsea’s top scorer Alvaro Morata ruled out of tonight’s tough trip to Huddersfield.
The Spaniard is the Blues’ top scorer this season
Nine-goal Morata has gone down with a back problem after battling through Saturday’s surprise 1-0 defeat at West Ham.
The Spain star needed a scan after picking up the injury on Friday but travelled with the squad and played the whole 90 minutes.

Boss Conte admits he needs more ‘rotations’ in his squad to freshen up his team but claims he is running out of alternatives.

Midfielder Danny Drinkwater sat out the weekend match because of illness and is still severely weakened.
Antonio Conte said Alvaro Morata was also feeling tired
Conte said: “Drinkwater started a training session yesterday after the fever and is coming with us. But, for sure, after three or four days with a fever, his physical condition is not at the top. David Luiz is continuing to recover from his knee.
“Morata is out, because he’s a bit tired and there is a problem in his back. He is out.”

Chelsea are in third place in the Premier League but 14 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Conte admits facing Huddersfield will stretch his players further.
Antonio Conte revealed his main striker will be out for the Huddersfield game
He said: “First of all, we are facing a team in a good moment of form.
“The last game they played a great game against Brighton, they won 2-0.

“I don’t know if it’s the way they prepared for us, but at the same time we must try and play our football.

“We must pay great attention of the counter attack because they have fast players. I repeat: they are in a good moment of form. We must be very good and be more clinical in this game because I think in the last couple of games, in the last period, we weren’t more clinical.”
